Per Diem Rotating/Variable ShiftsPOSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Provide front-line dialysis and pheresis services Prepare, assemble, operate, and monitor equipment used for dialysis and pheresis treatments Prepare dialysis solutions and concentrates Participate in quality control on dialysis equipment Primary Job Responsibilities Assemble, prepare, prime, and preset dialysis and pheresis equipment and materials in the dialysis lab and at patient bedside according to nephrology orders Maintain current knowledge of operation procedures and maintenance of new equipment Reprocess and disinfect hemodialysis equipment per policy and procedure Aseptically dispense dialysis solution to include calculating, measuring pre-weight of dry chemicals, and verifying through chemical analysis for accuracy Make changes in dialysis composition by compounding any additions In coordination with RN, perform bedside plasmapheresis treatment Participate in on-call coverage rotation for urgent dialysis set-ups outside laboratory business hours Required Position Qualifications An Associate’s Degree with emphasis in chemistry, biology, or medical sciences AND two years experience in a medical laboratory to include one year in a dialysis/pheresis laboratory at the level of Dialysis/Pheresis Technician Trainee. Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.DESIRED
