Director of Pharmacy

Job Summary: Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced healthcare leader to drive excellence and inspire our team towards exceptional patient outcomes and operational success.
- You will direct the personnel, operational and financial activities of the pharmacy services function for assigned operating unit.
- Identifies the need for policy development and/or revision, defines policies in collaboration with higher level management, input, goals and objectives.
- Oversees or directs the development, implementation and/or revision of function procedures/protocols in accordance with system-wide goals and objectives.
- pproves procedures/protocols and/or seeks other departmental approvals as appropriate.
- Develops, monitors and revises functional processes in accordance with system-wide goals and objectives.
- Provides input into the development and revision of organizational structure for function. Approves personnel actions such as hires, fires, disciplines, etc.
- Ensures the timely completion of performance appraisals. Develops current to intermediate goals and measures for a major function.
- Measures and assesses performance.

- ssists in development of and monitors budget for a major function.
- Monitors activities for and ensures compliance with laws, government regulations, JCAHO requirements and policies.
- s directed, implements external and internal audit recommendations.
- Ensures hospital departments achieve objectives for diversity of their suppliers.
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree or Master's degree in Pharmacy, Business Administration or comparable graduate degree.
- Postgraduate residency training and/or additional coursework in business administration preferred.
- Three to five years experience in pharmacy administration in hospital setting, including two to three years supervisory/leadership experience.
- Pediatric experience highly preferred.
- Registered Pharmacist and Controlled Substance licensures in the State of Michigan obtained within 3 months of entry into job.
