Job Summary

\n

The Global Risk Analytics Technology team is seeking a Python Developer to join a team developing a core technology platform, similar to a mini-version of Quartz. The developer will be responsible for true end-to-end application development, building scalable platform components and contributing to the performance, stability, and maintainability of the core platform.

\n

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Design and build horizontally scalable components within the core platform.
\n
• Develop Python applications end to end from scratch .
\n
• Write reusable, extensible, and maintainable code.
\n
• Apply strong object-oriented programming principles and Python modules.
\n
• Review code and provide feedback focused on best practices, performance, and stability.
\n
• Become a subject matter expert on code deployed to the platform.
\n
• Provide technical support and guidance to other developers.
\n
• Build distributed and scalable services and robust microservices.
\n
• Work with Spark and data stored within Hadoop and Hive environments.
\n
• Write and maintain unit tests.
\n
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation.
\n
• Identify opportunities to simplify software and improve maintainability.
\n
• Continuously improve development practices, code quality, performance, and platform reliability.
\n

Required Qualifications

\n

\n
• 8–10+ years of software development experience.
\n
• Expert-level Python development experience.
\n
• Proven experience developing complete applications from scratch through deployment/run-time , rather than primarily scripting or integration work.
\n
• Strong understanding of:
\n
• Object-oriented programming
\n
• Python modules
\n
• Application structure and execution
\n
• Functional programming
\n
• Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures .
\n
• Experience with relational, document, and NoSQL databases .
\n
• Experience building distributed and scalable services .
\n
• Experience developing robust microservices .
\n
• Experience writing unit tests using pytest or unittest .
\n
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation .
\n
• Experience with Spark .
\n
• Experience working with Hadoop and Hive or environments where data is stored on Hadoop/Hive.
\n
• Strong ownership, urgency, problem-solving ability, and willingness to learn.
\n

Desired Qualifications

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field .
\n
• Previous experience with Quartz is helpful but not required.
\n
