Ultrasound Technologist Opportunity

An exciting permanent opportunity has opened for an experienced Ultrasound Technologist (also known as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) with an area healthcare client where you'll use your expertise to operate specialized ultrasound equipment to produce high quality images that are used by physicians to diagnose and treat medical conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

• National certification in specialty from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
• Registration with ARDMS or CCI for vascular ultrasound is required.
• Echo and vascular modalities experience required.
• Graduate from an accredited diagnostic ultrasound technology program.
• Maintain required certifications, registries, health requirements, and operational requirements. Candidate must be able to produce copies of registries and/or diploma when requested.
• Valid driver's license required. Must be able to present license on demand. Periodic driver's license checks may occur.
• Vaccination against COVID-19 is required or submission of approved exemption documentation.
• BLS Certification.
• Complete and successfully pass drug screening and background check.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic smartphone and computer skills, including printing, scanning, and attaching documents to emails.

Job Summary and Responsibilities:

• Provide mobile ultrasound services at various care sites including nursing homes, home care facilities, and correctional and processing sites.
• Self-dispatch or contact dispatch to obtain daily caseload. Arrive at first case at shift start or depart home 30 minutes prior as required.
• Unload and transport portable sonographic equipment into facilities and perform ordered exams to obtain clinically diagnostic, technically competent images.
• Perform and process ultrasounds using portable equipment and digitally transmit studies to a Radiologist for interpretation.
• Verify orders against the patient chart upon arrival. Do not perform exams if physician orders are absent or inconsistent.
• Confirm patient identity using two identifiers. If patient cannot identify, obtain nurse-in-charge verification and document accordingly.
• Facility staff perform patient transfers and positioning. Technologists do not perform patient transfers.
• Complete required medical physical examinations, TB screening, and annual infection control in-service. Provide documentation within two weeks of annual exam date when requested.
• Scan exam-related paperwork and billing daily per protocol.
• Maintain vehicle and sonographic equipment. Report equipment malfunctions immediately.
• Wear company uniform and name tag. Carry company-provided phone and respond to urgent communications within 15 minutes.
• Check voicemail and cases at regular intervals as required by dispatch procedures.
• Adhere to company policies including drug-free workplace, code of conduct, and restrictions on alcohol, illegal substances, and weapons.
• Train other technologists as required and attend meetings as required.
• Maintain high standard of medical ethics and pursue ongoing professional development.

Physical Demands:

• Lifting equipment bag weighing 18 to 20 pounds into and out of vehicle and/or wheeled cart.
• Pull wheeled cart for up to 250 feet with initiating force of approximately 10 pounds and sustained force of 5 to 8 pounds.
