Job Title: Courtroom Presentation Specialist Job Category: Communications Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Public Trust Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% Type of Travel: Continental US The Opportunity: This Courtroom Presentation Specialist position is a great opportunity for an individual with strong courtroom presentation skills and trial experience to further a career path working directly with federal attorneys on preparing and presenting materials in litigation and other proceedings. This position provides an exciting and fulfilling opportunity to collaborate on evidence presentation and preparation on some of the most important cases in the Federal Government and to further develop technical through use of a suite of industry standard tools. Responsibilities: Works with the trial team, including expert witnesses, to develop plans for trial or hearings using a courtroom presentation system. Prepares exhibit images for particular uses (e.g. zooming in on or highlighting a particular paragraph, or setting up two exhibits side by side on the screen). Develops simple graphic images/exhibits using standard off-the-shelf software packages. Advises attorneys on the effectiveness of certain exhibits or sequences of exhibits. Digitizes audio and video clips. Synchronizes clips with written transcripts. Coordinates and conducts moot court proceedings and makes necessary revisions to trial presentation plans. Ensures the smooth operation of the presentation system in the courtroom. Qualifications: Required: The Courtroom Presentation Specialist needs to be a “jack-of-all-trades” capable of performing all trial and courtroom support functions, including equipment set up and troubleshooting, scripting, advising on graphics presentations, and courtroom operation of equipment. Trial experience. Must be familiar with standard evidentiary presentation packages such as Trial Director and Sanction. Must have excellent oral communication skills. Must be able to work effectively as a team member in an extremely pressured environment this includes the ability to calmly change directions as directed in a proceeding (example, call up an exhibit not on the day’s trial plan). Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a trial team through the entire pretrial and trial cycle, identifying and scanning exhibits, scripting with the attorneys, conduction moot courts, setting up the courtroom, operating and troubleshooting the system in the courtroom. Must be able to travel for long periods of time. Must be able to work long hours for an extended period of time. Desired: Relevant comparable experience supporting 10 trials or hearings in the role for 1 or more years. Certifications, coursework, and professional associations relating to courtroom presentation. Familiarity with standard litigation support applications (e.g., Relativity, iConect, CaseMap, etc). Undergraduate degree. Knowledge gained through experience in other legal based positions (paralegal, etc). What You Can Expect: A culture of integrity. Pay Range There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
