Archer Insurance Agency is an established independent brokerage with offices in Farragut, TN (primary) and Westlake Village, CA. We carry roughly $15M in total premium across a hybrid book — independent brokerage with multi-carrier access, plus a captive relationship. Our commercial book is approximately 80% independent and 20% captive.

We are owner-operated, growing, and actively building out our commercial division. The role we are filling is the cornerstone hire for that growth.

The Role

Title: Commercial Insurance Producer

Reports To: Ryan Archer, Owner

Location: 161 West End Ave, Farragut, TN

Work Arrangement: In-office during ramp-up period; hybrid opportunities available once established

Employment Type: Full-Time W-2

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $50,000

• Commission: Uncapped, paid monthly

  • 50% of agency commission on new business and cross-sells

  • 10% reduction on marketing-generated leads

  • 25% on rewrites

• Realistic Year 1 total compensation: $140,000+

• Top performers: $200,000+

• Benefits: 401(k) with 3% non-elective employer contribution after 1 year, 2 weeks PTO, 10 paid holidays, Monday–Friday schedule

What The Producer Will Work With

• Established inbound commercial lead pipeline

• Cross-sell opportunities from a large existing personal lines book

• Marketing-generated leads delivered consistently

• Multi-carrier independent brokerage platform

• Dedicated commercial CSR and renewals support (no service responsibilities for the producer)

• CRM, carrier portals, and full back-office infrastructure in place

This is not a cold-start role. The producer walks into existing opportunity and infrastructure.

Production Expectations

• Minimum: $50,000/month written premium (floor)

• Goal: $100,000/month average written premium

• Mix: Approximately 75% supported pipeline (inbound + cross-sell + marketing leads), 25% self-generated through referrals, networking, and outreach

Must-Haves

• Active Tennessee Property & Casualty license

• 2+ years of commercial insurance production experience (preferred), OR strong personal lines production track record with verifiable results and demonstrated commercial aptitude

• Proven sales results — specific numbers, not just titles

• Self-directed, comfortable owning a pipeline

• Strong communicator who can build trust with business owners

• Local to East Tennessee or willing to commute to Farragut

Strongly Preferred Qualifications

• Experience writing BOP, GL, Workers' Comp, Umbrella, Commercial Auto

• Background at an independent agency or carrier with multi-market access

• Track record of building referral partnerships (CPAs, bankers, attorneys)

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Existing commercial book of business (not required)

• Multi-state licensing or willingness to obtain

Disqualifiers (Hard Stops)

• No active Property & Casualty license and no clear path to obtain one quickly

• No commercial insurance experience or relevant production background

• Inability to verify production claims with specific performance metrics

• Pattern of missed commitments during the recruiting process

• Negotiation behavior that continually escalates after accommodations have been made

4. Reference checks (minimum of two former managers)
