Job Summary

The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines to produce precision parts and components according to customer specifications. The operator ensures product quality, maintains safety standards, and performs routine machine maintenance to support efficient manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines, including lathes, and/or mills
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and specifications
• Load parts and fixtures into machines and ensure proper alignment
• Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to maintain quality and production standards
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges
• Identify and troubleshoot machining issues, tool wear, and equipment malfunctions
• Maintain accurate production records, quality documentation, and machine logs
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and keep work areas clean and organized
• Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards
• Collaborate with supervisors, programmers, engineers, and quality personnel to improve manufacturing processes

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment preferred.  
• Fanuc controls experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
• Knowledge of machining practices, tooling, and measurement techniques
• Basic understanding of CNC programming and G-code preferred
• Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment accurately
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials throughout the shift
• Frequently lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and metalworking fluids
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of quality control processes and ISO standards
• Forklift and crane operation experience
