VP/Controller | Phoenix, AZ (Onsite) Vaco is partnering with a Phoenix-based organization to hire a VP/Controller on a direct-hire basis. This is a high-impact opportunity for a turnaround-oriented finance leader to play a critical role in stabilizing accounting operations and leading a financial systems transformation that will modernize billing, reporting, and internal controls. This position is ideal for a hands‑on leader who thrives in dynamic environments and is motivated by driving operational improvement, building structure, and restoring financial discipline. Key Responsibilities Lead the stabilization of accounting operations while overseeing the transition to a new ERP platform, enhancing automation, reporting capabilities, and internal controls Drive the elimination of billing backlogs and implement disciplined, efficient invoicing processes aligned with operational workflows and system capabilities Strengthen cash flow and vendor management by improving coordination across billing, receivables, collections, and payables, while increasing financial visibility and process reliability Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required CPA strongly preferred 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience 6+ years of experience as a Controller or in an equivalent senior accounting leadership role Industry experience in construction, engineering, or field services required in order to be considered Ability to work onsite in Phoenix, AZ, Monday through Friday Salary $185k-$200k plus bonus If you're a finance leader ready to make a meaningful impact and lead through transformation, we encourage you to apply.
