Senior Underwriter, Middle Market

Responsibilities Demonstrate technical expertise and product knowledge in Middle Market P&C Insurance (Property, General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Automobile, Umbrella) Use all appropriate underwriting tools, disciplines, and knowledge of strategies to ensure underwriting guidelines are followed Exhibit technical underwriting skills through strategic, thorough account reviews and file documentation Prepare or analyze information on adverse underwriting decisions, rate appeals, underwriting requirements, status, and declinations to drive results within the assigned territory Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, serving as the primary underwriting resource and point of contact Attend client/broker meetings, lunches, dinners, and other social outings as applicable and have willingness to travel to aggressively market assigned territory Requirements Minimum 3 years of underwriting authority/insurance experience Bachelor’s Degree Preferred Experience in working, producing, and underwriting all sizes of accounts with large brokerage houses, agents, and specialty retailers Experience of successfully underwriting, quoting, and binding profitable business Established relationships with brokers and agents on both a regional and national level Strong negotiation skills Strong attention to detail Excellent oral and written communication skills Team player with grit, and collaborative by nature Certifications & Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree Preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr Jobtailor
