Job Description: Senior AccountantPosition Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in our financial operations, focusing on cost accounting, inventory valuation, and supporting the monthly/year-end closing processes. This is an onsite position based in Beverly, MA, reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager.
Key ResponsibilitiesCost Accounting & Inventory: Review, update, and maintain cost roll-ups in the ERP system to ensure accurate inventory valuation. Analyze Bills of Material (BOM), monitor standard vs. actual production costs, and reconcile purchase price variances.
Operational Analysis: Evaluate manufacturing efficiencies, spending variances, and inventory trends. Assist in developing cost estimates for new product development and revisions.
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close: Prepare journal entries, verify ledger postings, and contribute to the preparation of the monthly financial statement package (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and P&L analysis).
Compliance & Audit: Support year-end audit procedures, including the preparation of audit work papers and overseeing physical inventory counts. Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and SOX requirements.
Special Projects: Assist with system upgrades, new reporting initiatives, and provide ad-hoc analysis as requested by leadership.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent field.
Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, specifically within a manufacturing environment .
Technical Skills: * Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Experience with MAS500 is highly preferred.
Solid understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and SOX compliance.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Target Salary: $100,000 – $115,000 per year + Bonus.
Work Environment: Onsite, Beverly, MA.
