What You'll Do

• Lead the delivery of right of way projects for DOT and public agency clients — owning scope, schedule, budget, and quality from kickoff through closeout
• Ensure acquisition and relocation work complies with the Uniform Act and applicable federal, state, and client requirements
• Direct and support a project team of agents and specialists, balancing workloads and removing roadblocks
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, delivering clear status reporting and building lasting relationships
• Monitor project financials, forecasts, and staffing plans
• Support proposals, pricing, and business development for new work

Minimum Requirements

• Prior experience leading project teams or managing right of way projects, preferably for DOTs or public agencies
• Prior experience utilizing the Uniform Relocation Act on projects
• Active North Carolina Real Estate License
• Active NC Notary OR the ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire
• Proficient with MS Office Suite — specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook
• An iOS or Android smartphone to access ORC's systems
• Valid driver's license

Leveling is based on a number of factors — including years of experience, demonstrated skills, the complexity and scope of work you've owned, overall career depth, and what you demonstrate throughout the interview process.

Your offer, including compensation, will align with the level that best matches your experience:

• Public Sector Project Manager 1 — $79,509 – $99,972 | Minimum of 4 years Right of Way acquisition experience with at least 1 year of project management experience
• Public Sector Project Manager 2 — $88,208 – $110,883 | Minimum of 6 years Right of Way acquisition experience with at least 3 years of project management experience
• Public Sector Project Manager 3 — $96,505 – $121,290 | Minimum of 8 years Right of Way acquisition experience with at least 5 years of project management experience

Relocation and per diem are not provided.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, it requires a combination of office-based and field work. Employees will spend prolonged periods sitting and performing computer-based tasks, including typing, data entry, and virtual communication, while also regularly traveling to landowner properties, project sites, and government facilities, some of which may be in rural or remote locations with limited accessibility. Driving is an essential function of the role and may involve extended periods and long-distance travel. Fieldwork may require walking over uneven terrain, standing, or navigating outdoor environments, with routine exposure to varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and snow. The role also involves frequent interaction with a diverse range of individuals, including landowners, government officials, and members of the public, requiring the ability to communicate effectively and maintain professionalism across differing personalities and potentially challenging situations. xhyhwjd Flexibility in scheduling is necessary to accommodate travel, site access, and stakeholder availability, along with adherence to safety protocols in both office and field settings.
