The Grocery Associate is responsible for rotating, stocking and facing the Grocery Department; ensuring each product is of high quality and priced accurately. The Grocery Associate will also assist the department with miscellaneous tasks including, but not limited to, cleaning, maintaining back stock and gathering grocery carts and baskets as needed.Our Values:Service: We will treat every customer like a beloved family member or friend and find a way to say "yes" to our customers. We will be quick to respond to our customers and use "Red Truck Service" when additional assistance is needed.Work ExperienceDuties/ResponsibilitiesServe customers in the Grocery Department while modeling Sendik's culture and providing "best in class" customer service, which includes, greeting, engaging, delighting and thanking every guest for their businessAssist customers in selecting products, answering questions and offering suggestions as neededStock, rotate and face the Grocery Department aislesClean shelving units to ensure they are free from dust at all timesMaintain and work back stock itemsAssist with unloading deliveries and gathering items to be stockedAssist with general cleaning of the store and gathering grocery carts and baskets as neededOperate, maintain and clean Grocery equipment including, u-boats, flat carts and pallet jacksAssist with the training and mentoring of new associates in the Grocery DepartmentMaintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety/sanitation regulations and proceduresAssist with all other Grocery Department duties as neededQualificationsEagerness to interact with customersExcellent attention to detailExcellent time management, prioritization and organization skillsAbility to work at a fast paced and efficient mannerStrong sense of team – ability to anticipate the needs of the teamAbility to take initiative and make decisions independently regarding department needs and priorities, under general supervisionAbility to stand, walk, lift, bend, push/pull for extended periods of timeAbility to lift up to 50 pounds
