Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to understand the unique needs of older adults, identifying their psychological, emotional, and social challenges.

• Create and implement personalized treatment plans that take into account cognitive changes, physical health, and other contextual factors affecting each patient’s well-being.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual and family therapy sessions, utilizing appropriate therapeutic modalities to address various psychiatric conditions.

• Work in collaboration with geriatric psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to patient care.

• Engage in crisis intervention when needed, responding to emergencies involving elderly patients with sensitivity and urgency.

• Offer education and resources to patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and available community resources, empowering them to make informed decisions about their care.

• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with all legal and ethical standards, ensuring continuity of care and effective communication among team members.

• Participate actively in team meetings and case consultations to foster a culture of continuous learning and shared knowledge within the organization.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on the geriatric population, who often face complex mental health issues, including late-life depression, anxiety disorders, and cognitive decline. Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited program.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LCSW in Florida.

• Demonstrated understanding of geriatric mental health disorders and treatment methodologies.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, embracing a patient-centered, empathetic care approach.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, particularly in geriatric mental health settings, we value your passion for helping older adults and your eagerness to learn and grow in your practice.
