Located near the scenic Middletown, CT area, this full-time position supports high school students in both resource and co-teaching environments. Cover a maternity leave starting in September and continue through December — an ideal way to gain unique experience while fostering student success.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification, appropriate for high school level
- Recent experience working with high school-aged students in special education
- Strong collaboration skills for effective co-teaching
- Understanding of IEPs and ability to deliver personalized instruction
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Flexibility and commitment to providing student-centered support
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to high school students with diverse learning needs in both resource and inclusive classroom settings
- Co-teach with general education teachers, collaborating on lesson planning and classroom management
- Implement and monitor IEPs, ensuring all goals and accommodations are met
- Track student progress and document performance regularly
- Communicate with parents, staff, and administrators as needed
- Foster a welcoming environment that encourages student growth, engagement, and independence
