What you bring to the table:

• Proven experience of at least 2 years working as a perfusionist in adult cardiac procedures or similar roles
• Completion of a formal training program in Extracorporeal Technology
• Certification from The American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion
• Current licensure as a Perfusionist by the Louisiana State Board of Medical or the ability to obtain it
• Strong skills in performing cardiopulmonary bypass, ventricular assist, intra-aortic balloon pump support, and ECMO
• Proficiency in auto transfusion, physiological monitoring, hemofiltration (including acute dialysis), and operating blood analyzers and ex-vivo organ systems
• Flexibility to work weekdays and weekends with rotational on-call duties
• Ability to adapt to emergency assignments and be part of crisis response teams when required

Additional beneficial skills:

• Previous experience in high-pressure environments
• Knowledge of the latest perfusion technology and advanced surgical support techniques
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred education and experience:

• Completion of accredited perfusion training programs
• Certification from the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion
• Existing Louisiana state licensure or eligibility to obtain it

Other requirements:

• Willingness to participate in emergency response teams and accept variable shift demands
• Valid licensure or ability to secure licensure in Louisiana
• Ability to operate specialized medical equipment and adhere to safety protocols
