Job Overview This is for a full-time or part-time (if candidate preference) PTA role at one ALF in Lake Placid. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality care to patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or managing chronic conditions. You will play a vital role in helping patients regain mobility and improve their overall quality of life through tailored therapeutic interventions. Duties Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients. Provide hands-on therapy techniques including orthopedics and other modalities as directed. Monitor patient progress and document treatment outcomes accurately. Educate patients and their families on care plans and home exercise programs to promote recovery. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Participate in discharge planning to facilitate smooth transitions for patients leaving therapy. Actively lead exercise classes, participate in community events, and work collaboratively with community personnel. Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols. Requirements REQUIRED current PTA license in Florida Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assistance. Knowledge of medical terminology and basic physiology is essential. Experience or familiarity with geriatrics, discharge planning, and care plans is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in various settings.
