Sr. Backend EngineerCGI is seeking a hands-on Senior API / Full Stack Engineer to design, develop, test, and support highly scalable enterprise services and APIs. The ideal candidate brings strong Java/Spring engineering expertise, cloud experience, and a passion for engineering excellence. This is a full-time, on-site employment opportunity based in the Cary, NC area.Your Future Duties And ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain scalable REST APIs and enterprise services. Develop solutions using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Core, and Web Services. Contribute to domain-driven API design and API lifecycle management. Develop and maintain solutions deployed within AWS cloud environments. Implement automated unit and integration testing using modern testing frameworks. Support CI/CD pipelines and containerized application deployment. Design and support high-transaction production applications with a focus on scalability, availability, monitoring, and performance. Participate in code reviews and promote software engineering best practices. Troubleshoot complex production and non-production issues. Lead process and technology improvement initiatives. Mentor team members and contribute to a culture of engineering excellence.Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role10+ years of hands-on software development experience. Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Strong development experience with Java and Spring Boot. Extensive experience designing and developing REST APIs. Experience with Domain-Driven API Design, Swagger/OpenAPI, and API lifecycle management. Experience with AWS cloud technologies. Experience with JUnit, Cucumber, REST Assured, or similar testing frameworks. Experience with Jenkins, Maven, Docker, and Git based development environments. Experience supporting high volume production applications.
