PhD Physicist for AI Training [Remote]

Apply advanced physics expertise to support cutting-edge physics research and to help train next-generation AI systems. In this contractor role you will investigate the laws of matter and energy, develop and clarify physical theories, and translate complex scientific ideas into high-quality material used to teach and evaluate AI. No prior experience in AI is required, domain knowledge is the primary requirement.

• Conduct deep-dive research on fundamental and applied physics topics, keeping up with the latest developments in the field.
• Analyze experimental data and interpret findings to support development of robust physical theories.
• Develop clear, detailed explanations of complex scientific concepts for use in AI training and evaluation.
• Create and curate physics-related educational content and training modules for AI systems.
• Critically review and assess AI-generated physics content for conceptual accuracy, clarity, and scientific rigor.
• Collaborate remotely with project stakeholders to refine deliverables and ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Provide written and verbal feedback on research outcomes and physics-related queries as part of an iterative AI training process.

• Doctorate (PhD) in Physics or a closely related scientific discipline.
• Demonstrated experience conducting rigorous scientific research, including publication in peer-reviewed journals.
• Strong foundation in both theoretical and experimental physics, with the ability to synthesize and communicate complex ideas.
• Required skills include physics subject-matter expertise, scientific reasoning, critical thinking, research skills, and teaching or instructional ability.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a passion for science education and outreach.
• Experience developing or delivering physics instruction at the university or advanced undergraduate level is a plus.
• Comfort collaborating remotely and contributing to multidisciplinary projects.

This is a remote contractor engagement. Contributors will work remotely and collaborate with project stakeholders as needed. The role is structured as an independent contractor assignment.

Pay rate: $70 to $90 per hour.
