Physics Expert for AI Model Training

Role Overview

Apply advanced physics knowledge to help improve and evaluate large language models. You will design rigorous problems, produce clear reasoning, and translate complex concepts into accessible explanations while contributing to AI research projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and solve challenging physics problems that test the limits of large language models.
• Create accurate, high-quality, step-by-step solutions with clearly articulated reasoning.
• Collaborate remotely with language-model researchers to align problems with evaluation objectives, including abstraction, multi-step reasoning, and symbolic manipulation.
• Help develop physics evaluation benchmarks spanning early undergraduate through PhD-level topics.
• Use strong analytical skills and English comprehension to support language-model fine-tuning work.

Qualifications

• Strong research and analytical skills, with a solid physics foundation at engineering entrance-exam, graduate, or PhD-program level.
• Ability to analyze and solve complex physics problems using a structured, logical approach.
• Ability to explain physics concepts clearly in simple language, using visuals and physics-based reasoning where helpful.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback and detailed annotations.
• Creative and lateral thinking skills.
• Excellent structured communication and remote collaboration skills.
• Self-motivated, independent working style.
• A desktop or laptop and reliable internet connection.

Eligibility

• Applicants currently pursuing a Master’s, PhD, or postdoctoral degree in Physics, Applied Physics, or a related field are eligible and encouraged to apply.

Work Terms

• Fully remote contractor or freelance assignment.
