Job Title: Solder Technician Job Description

This role focuses on precision hand soldering and electronic assembly to support production of high-quality components. You will build, inspect, and verify electronic assemblies while following detailed instructions and maintaining strict quality and safety standards. The position requires consistent attention to detail, steady manual dexterity, and the ability to meet daily output goals without compromising workmanship.

• Perform precise hand soldering on through-hole and surface mount board-level components.
• Assemble electronic parts using tools such as soldering irons, tweezers, hot air equipment, and small hand tools.
• Inspect solder joints and assemblies using magnifiers or microscopes to ensure they meet quality and workmanship standards.
• Identify, document, and report defects or non-conforming materials to the appropriate personnel.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and assembly drawings to complete work accurately.
• Follow detailed assembly instructions and process documentation step by step.
• Maintain an organized, clean workstation in alignment with lean and 6S standards.
• Meet established production goals and daily output targets while maintaining high quality.
• Follow ESD (electrostatic discharge) controls and safety procedures at all times.
• Use small tools such as torque tools, calipers, and pliers to support assembly and inspection tasks.
• Apply IPC 610 / 620 standards during soldering and assembly to ensure consistent quality.
• Use basic computer skills to access work instructions, record data, and complete required documentation.

• 1–2 years of experience soldering small electronic components in an electronics environment.
• Proficiency in basic hand soldering for both through-hole and surface mount components.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and assembly drawings.
• Experience using microscopes and magnifiers for detailed inspection work.
• Familiarity with IPC 610 and IPC 620 standards for electronic assembly and wiring.
• Experience with wiring and electronic assembly practices.
• Basic computer skills to navigate work instructions and enter production or quality data.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately and consistently.
• Strong attention to detail and steady manual dexterity for fine soldering tasks.

• Experience working with small tools such as torque tools, calipers, pliers, and similar hand tools.
• Comfort working with lean and 6S organizational practices at the workstation.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with production and quality teams.
• Strong focus on quality, reliability, and continuous improvement in a production environment.

You will work in a clean, temperature-controlled production environment that supports focus, precision, and comfort throughout the day. The schedule provides a consistent Monday through Friday daytime shift, supporting work-life balance and predictable hours. This position is a first-shift role, typically working Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The facility is temperature-controlled, providing a comfortable environment for detailed soldering and inspection tasks. Work is primarily seated, with no heavy lifting required, making it well-suited for precision, microscope-based assembly. You will regularly use microscopes, magnifying glasses, soldering irons, tweezers, hot air equipment, and small hand tools such as torque tools, calipers, and pliers. The workspace follows lean and 6S principles, emphasizing organization, cleanliness, and safety, including adherence to ESD controls and standard production procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vista, CA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Vista,CA.
