TITLE: Dining Coordinator

PROGRAM: MAOF Senior Services Programs (Los Angeles County)

SALARY: $18.00 - $19.26 per hour

STATUS: Non-Exempt, Part Time (20 hours per week)

CLOSING DATE: Open until filled

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Nutrition Project Supervisor, the Dining Coordinator will coordinate and supervise the delivery and quality of meal service to program participants and is responsible for completing all required paperwork.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - include but are not limited to the following:

• Will prepare site for meal service.
• Supervise volunteers and or aides who help serve meals.
• Complete a record of attendance and program income and deliver it to main office on a daily basis.
• Will plan social activities such as monthly birthday and holiday celebrations.
• Will keep participants informed of resources, services and events being held at the Institute’s Senior Multipurpose Center.
• Will attend quarterly nutrition in-service training and other staff meetings as schedule.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Nutrition Project Director.

REQUIRMENTS:

• Bilingual Fluency in English and Spanish.
• Will be required to pass the Certified Food Handler Exam within thirty (30) days of employment.
• Must possess a valid California Driver’s License, have reliable transportation and maintain liability insurance.
• Negative T.B. test or chest X-rays (stated by law), negative drug and alcohol screen test.
• Ability to relate well to clients and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
• Proven leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively and to complete required program records and reports.
• Must successfully pass the Department of Justice (DOJ) criminal background check with a valid clearance number.
• Ability to labor in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to maintain cooperative, diplomatic working relationships with co-workers and supervisors; work as part of a team and collaborate with department; and complete projects under tight deadlines even when there are completing requirements and changes in assignments.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
