Job Description
Under general supervision, performs technical network, telephony and video surveillance administration work of considerable difficulty, and performs related duties as assigned.

- Install, modify and maintain computer networks such as local area networks, wide area networks, Internet access, and other data communications systems.
- Perform network troubleshooting to isolate, diagnose and repair common network problems.
- Maintain Firewall ACL rules and Remote Access.
- Upgrade data network equipment to latest stable software and firmware releases.
- Configure and deploy routing and switching equipment.
- Configure, deploy, troubleshoot and update Session Border Controller.
- Troubleshoot VoIP routing and function using SIP message captures.
- Provision, deploy, maintain and troubleshoot VoIP phones.
- Research and recommend software and hardware purchases to the Senior Network Engineer.
- Prepare reports regarding usage, network vulnerabilities and related topics.
- Install and maintain surveillance equipment and software.
- Troubleshoot IP surveillance camera, server and network operation.
- Must be available to assist "on-call" technicians as needed.
Knowledge and Skills
- Understanding of Cisco Service Provider routing and switching.
- Understanding of SIP communications and call flows.
- Knowledge of Software Defined Networking Concepts.
- Knowledge of Meraki wireless and VPN technologies.
- Knowledge of basic Analog Phone communications.
- Knowledge of VoIP Gateways/SBCs and Teams Direct Routing.
- Knowledge of current MS Windows Operating systems, MS Windows Server, Hardware Virtualization, Active Directory, MS Azure and Unified Messaging.
- Skill in professional communications both verbally and in writing.
- Skill in handling stressful situations with hard deadlines and/or conflicting priorities.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams as an Enterprise PBX.
- Experience in Cisco Enterprise routers, switches and firewall devices.
- Experience planning, organizing and fulfilling projects that include cooperation between multiple departments and vendors.
- Experience with Video Surveillance Platforms and System Design.
Desirable Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or closely related technical field; AND three years' experience in network administration and computer systems; prior work experience in a government setting is preferred.
