Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Assisting licensed Physical Therapists in implementing customized treatment plans designed to enhance patient mobility, strength, and functional capability.
• Guiding patients through therapeutic activities, including exercises and stretches, tailored to alleviate pain and foster rehabilitation progress.
• Educating patients on effective exercise techniques and body mechanics to facilitate safe recovery at home.
• Administering various therapeutic modalities, such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, while working closely under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
• Tracking and documenting patient progress meticulously, focusing on key metrics such as range of motion and overall functional improvements.
• Preparing treatment areas for therapy sessions, ensuring equipment and supplies are organized and available for efficient patient care.
• Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure an integrated approach to patient care, optimizing outcomes through shared expertise.
• Providing emotional support and encouragement to patients, creating a positive and motivating rehabilitation environment.
• Adhering to ethical practices and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, neurological conditions, and those requiring rehabilitation due to sporting injuries or age-related ailments. Your empathetic and personalized approach will help facilitate their healing process, catering to their specific needs and conditions.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

• An Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• A valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Strong foundational knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic interventions pertinent to physical therapy.
• Proficiency in executing therapeutic exercises and modalities under the professional guidance of a Physical Therapist.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and coordinate with our multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with previous experience in a hospital or rehabilitation setting will be given preference. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and documenting patient progress digitally is also beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits
