About the Position

Weekends required to meet staffing needs. Description: This position requires 2 years of relevant nursing experience. First-time travelers are not accepted. Experience in blood and blood products administration, drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, and syringe pumps is necessary. Knowledge of wound vacs, heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate administration is essential. Skills in OB-GYN and post-operative care, including post vaginal delivery care, are expected. Responsibilities include postpartum re-admits and normal newborn care, with a focus on thermoregulation and glucose management. The role may involve discharge teaching to parents and other educational responsibilities. You will be required to manage medications such as opioids and perform various assessments, including pain assessment and management. Effective communication and teamwork are crucial, as interdisciplinary support will be involved in patient care. The nursing staff will be trained in the use of electric/manual breast pumps and will provide breastfeeding instructions. Experience with both vaginal delivery and cesarean sections is required. Knowledge of postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension is necessary. Traveling staff may be expected to float to nearby facilities as needed. Refusal to float may lead to contract termination. Candidates must commit to working designated holidays. References covering a year of experience within the last three years will be required.
