Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department Profession: RN Specialty: ED Duration: 12 weeks Shift: 12hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience License: RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI (TNCC preferred) required Must-Have: General Emergency Department skillset including but not limited to cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with critical care drips, peripheral IV starts, and conscious sedation. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. The facility has 337 licensed beds with a focus on providing care across a diverse patient population. The average patient census is approximately 145 per day. The unit has a total of 43 beds, including clinical decision beds and behavioral health units. Patient types and common diagnoses include respiratory illness, stroke, acute myocardial infarction, and minor trauma. Patients served range from pediatric to geriatric. The admission rate is between 25-30%. Patient ratios are RN: 1:3-4 based on acuity. Support staff includes dedicated Emergency Department physicians, advanced practice providers, social workers, and 24/7 respiratory therapists. The department uses an electronic medical record system, and staff will receive training on the technology used in the unit. Traveling may be required to other facilities within the region as needed.
