About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7 PM - 7 AM) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience required. First-time travelers will not be accepted. License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI required; TNCC preferred. Must-Have: General Emergency Department skillset including cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with critical care drips, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, and conscious sedation. Description: This position is for an RN in the Emergency Department. The facility has 337 licensed beds, with a focus on a general ED population. The Emergency Department has an average census of 145 patients per day. Common patient diagnoses include respiratory illness, stroke, behavioral health, acute myocardial infarction, and minor trauma. The department serves a wide age range from pediatric to geriatric. The admission rate is approximately 25-30%. Patient ratios are RN: 1:3-4 based on acuity. There is support within the department including paramedic charge nurses, dedicated pharmacists, and a social worker. Travelers will be required to float to different facilities within the region based on needs. All necessary technology and equipment, including EMR and monitoring systems, are available.
