Job Title: RN - Emergency Department Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI required; TNCC preferred Must-Have: General Emergency Department skill set, including cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with critical care drips, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, and conscious sedation Description: The Emergency Department is seeking an experienced RN to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency care and trauma stabilization. You will be responsible for managing a diverse patient population, including respiratory illnesses, strokes, behavioral health issues, and acute myocardial infarctions. The department has a total of 43 beds, including Clinical Decision beds. You can expect an average of 145 patients daily, with admission rates ranging from 25% to 30%. Patient ratios will be RN: 1:3-4 based on acuity. Support staff includes a patient safety attendant, unit coordinator, and a dedicated pharmacist during daytime hours. A multidisciplinary team approach includes ED physicians and advanced practice providers available 24/7. The facility utilizes EPIC for electronic medical records and includes advanced technology such as IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, and cardiac monitoring equipment. Successful candidates will be required to float to other facilities within the region as needed. The culture is welcoming, helpful, and fast-paced.
