Essential Duties and Responsibilities Sales Leadership – Assist customers and lead the team in driving sales, service, and customer experience initiatives to achieve KPIs and store performance goals. Prioritize, assign, and delegate daily goals, tasks, and assignments. Maintain a high level of professionalism and positive attitude. Customer Excellence – Partner with the Store Manager to plan community events and develop mutually beneficial relationships with rescue agencies. Protect employees and customers by maintaining a safe and clean store environment. Lead and demonstrate engagement with customers using a selling and service model. Operations & Team Building – Support store standards and safety requirements, maintain pet enclosures, and clean animal care areas. Assist with restocking, inventory accuracy, opening and closing procedures, and execute new‑hire training and merchandising guidelines. Business Insight – Monitor business performance throughout the shift and react quickly to business needs. Qualifications Minimum 1 year retail or customer service experience. Enjoy working with and around animals. Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle (preferred). Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Effort Heavy lifting up to 55 lbs several times throughout a shift. Standing, moving, and active listening throughout the day. Potential for slips, trips, falls, and strains/sprains from lifting. Occasional work in temperature‑stable indoor environment.
