GTM Engineer (Consultant)

Role Description

Carrot is building a future AI-native marketing team with a heavy focus on demand generation, and this role is at the center of it. As a GTM Engineer (Consultant) , you will be the person who turns marketing strategy into operational leverage by building the agents, workflows, and automation systems that let the team move faster and compound their output over time. This is not a tooling admin role or a prompt-in-a-chat-window position. It’s a builder role for someone who ships real systems.

The mandate starts with demand generation, but is explicitly built to expand. You'll lay an agent and data foundation that extends into account-based marketing (ABM) and partner/channel selling, and that other marketing functions (content, PMM, brand) adopt as Carrot becomes an AI-native marketing org.

You will own the intersection of marketing judgment and technical execution. That means:

• Designing Clay-based enrichment and signal plays
• Building agentic workflows in Claude Code and n8n
• Connecting them to Carrot’s marketing stack (Marketo, SFDC, Outreach, Gong) in ways that actually stick

You will report through the Marketing leadership team and work closely with Demand Generation, Sales, and Revenue Operations. This is a 6-month consulting position (approximately 30-40 hours per week) with a potential path to full-time for the right person.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree
• 5+ years in a marketing, growth, or GTM role with hands-on technical building, not just tool administration
• Demonstrated experience shipping real agents and workflows using Claude Code, Clay, n8n, Zapier, or comparable tools
• Strong fundamentals in marketing
• Proficiency with Marketo and Salesforce at a level beyond standard user access
• Hands-on with a data warehouse + SQL (Snowflake/BigQuery) and reverse-ETL (Census/Hightouch)
• A systems mindset

Requirements

• Design and ship agentic marketing workflows using Claude Code, n8n, and Zapier
• Build reusable enrichment and signal plays
• Strengthen the lead-to-opportunity data foundation
• Build out a warehouse-native data spine
• Partner with Marketing Ops to evolve Carrot’s marketing automation infrastructure
• Develop and maintain a UTM governance framework and attribution logic
• Build account-based marketing infrastructure
• Partner with Demand Generation and Revenue Operations
• Document every system you build for handoff, version control, and continuity
• Evaluate the build-vs-buy tradeoff for new tooling
• Run qualitative and quantitative experiments on the marketing tech stack

Compensation

The hourly rate for this role varies based on working location and experience. For candidates working within 50 miles of Seattle, the Bay Area, or New York, the hourly range is $101 – $150 per hour. For candidates working from all other locations, the hourly range is $91 – $135 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and business needs.
