Location: Louisville, KY
Pay Rate: $25.00/hour
Duration: 11-Month Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (earlier start on some Mondays to support payroll processing)

About the Opportunity

The Fountain Group is seeking an organized and detail-oriented HR Specialist to support a prominent manufacturing client in Louisville, KY. This position plays a critical role in payroll administration, workforce management, employee engagement, onboarding, and HR operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong customer service skills, and has experience working with HRIS systems such as Workday, ADP, or Kronos.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee payroll processing and attendance management
• Support employee onboarding and new hire orientation activities
• Coordinate internal job postings and bid processes
• Process employee transactions in HRIS systems, including hires, terminations, promotions, salary changes, benefits enrollments, leave requests, and direct deposit updates
• Maintain employee records and ensure data integrity within Workday and related systems
• Provide HR, payroll, and benefits support to employees, managers, and HR partners
• Deliver high-touch customer service through phone, email, and case management systems
• Administer employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and wellness programs
• Assist with employee engagement initiatives and company-sponsored events
• Investigate and resolve employee inquiries while ensuring timely follow-up
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and support implementation efforts
• Collaborate with cross-functional HR teams to ensure consistent execution of HR processes

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 0–3 years of HR, payroll, benefits, workforce management, or related experience
• Experience with Workday, ADP, Kronos, or other HRIS platforms
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Customer service-focused mindset
• Ability to prioritize urgent business needs and manage multiple responsibilities
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities
• Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience supporting a unionized workforce
• Bilingual in Spanish or French
• Previous call center or HR shared services experience
• Experience with PeopleSoft or additional HRIS systems
• Strong influencing and relationship-building skills

Additional Information

• Occasional overtime, weekend work, or off-shift support may be required based on business needs

• This position is not expected to convert to a full-time role
