As part of the team, you’ll collaborate closely with high‑caliber engineers and deeply engaged business and product partners - working together to define and deliver the next generation of Equities technology at Citi.We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced KDB+ Specialist to be a key contributor to the strategic analytics backbone that services our Equities Electronic Trading product. This is a senior-level position responsible for the design, development, and optimization of critical application systems and programs, working in coordination with the Citi Equities Electronic Trading Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to drive technical implementation and innovation across our analytics and data subsystems and to serve as a subject matter expert within the team.Responsibilities:Drive technical design discussions and conduct rigorous code reviews to ensure high quality, performance, and adherence to architectural standards.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other developers, fostering best practices in high-performance KDB+ application development.Design, develop, and optimize high-performance, low-latency applications utilizing KDB+/Q for our Equities Electronic Trading platform's analytics and data subsystems.Build and maintain business-critical, high-frequency systems to process market data and generate sophisticated analytics from large-scale datasets.Contribute to platforms enabling efficient data management, sophisticated analytics generation, and robust trading functionalities.Partner with product development, quantitative researchers, and other technology teams to deliver new trading capabilities and enhance existing systems.Drive continuous improvement initiatives in testing frameworks, development tools, and deployment processes for low-latency and high-throughput environments.Resolve complex technical challenges through in-depth analysis of business and system processes, adhering to industry best practices and architectural blueprints.Apply advanced knowledge of system architecture, data flow, and development standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.Build common solutions for trading platform monitoring, trade reconciliation, and application recovery.Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.Qualifications:Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience in software development with a strong focus on high-performance, low-latency systems in a financial domain.Proven, deep expertise in KDB+ (Q language) development, with extensive practical experience in scaling, load-balancing, resilience, and optimizing query performance for large, high-frequency datasets.Experience designing and developing analytics platforms for automated trading systems in Equities or other similar asset classes.Solid understanding of financial market protocols like FIX, and practical experience handling order and market datasets.Demonstrable experience with testing frameworks, Agile methodologies, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes.Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, set goals, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication skills with a demonstrable ability to present and grasp complex technical and business concepts.Preferred background in Markets Electronic Trading or Market Making domains.Education:Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experienceMaster’s degree preferred------------------------------------------------------Job Family Group: Technology------------------------------------------------------Job Family:Applications Development------------------------------------------------------Time Type:Full time------------------------------------------------------Primary Location:Jersey City New Jersey United States------------------------------------------------------Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:$176,720.00 - $265,080.00In addition to salary, Citi’s offerings may also include, for eligible employees, discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
