Middle Office Credit OfficerThe ITO Credit Transaction Management (CTM) Middle Office team provides essential support to the CIB Americas Banking Operations Platform, integrating deep industry expertise with a rigorous focus on operational efficiency and control. The team's primary mission is to optimize the management of credit financing transactions by implementing standardized processes and advanced tools to enhance data integrity and governance.The Middle Officer is responsible for the end-to-end oversight of Global Banking credit deals, encompassing pre-closing, closing, and post-closing phases. This includes the critical review and approval of both new and amended credit transactions. Furthermore, ensuring the precise capture and administration of financing data while upholding strict regulatory and operational controls to mitigate risk for both clients and BNP Paribas.Candidate Success FactorsCandidates are measured on the following four performance drivers, which will dictate how individual impact is considered on the Americas platform:Results and Impact Able to influence peers and team.Demonstrates good judgement when making decisions of high complexity and impact.Exercise appropriate autonomy in the execution and delivery of work.Responsible for driving outcomes, which have meaningful effect on team or department.Leadership and Collaboration Creates trust with colleagues.Acts in leadership capacity for projects, processes, or programs.Client, Customer and Stakeholder Focus Able to build relationships with a mix of colleagues and clients.Interacts regularly with management and department leaders.Demonstrates the ability to influence stakeholders at the team level.Compliance Culture and Conduct Takes full responsibility for personal actions and demonstrates courage in facing problems and conflicts.Perceived as a person of high moral character; upholds corporate values and displays high ethical standards.ResponsibilitiesManage Project Finance and Corporate Credit/Loan Deals Closing.Ensure high quality data is maintained in the bank's various systems.Monitor day-to-day deal closing and amendment processing and ensure appropriate controls are performed.Troubleshooting for the system related issues, escalations, incidents, reporting requirements and any other emails raised by Clients and Front/Back Offices.Provide required subject matter expertise to maintain data quality and governance standards; participate in data quality remediation initiatives.Liaise with various stakeholders for timely receipt of new and amended documentation (Credit Risk Approval, Métier Support Memo, Financing Agreements, etc…) for the creation of counterparty financings in the Bank's systems.Ensure the terms of the financing are in accordance with conditions stipulated by internal credit committee(s).Review timely pre-close data capture/extract and review of names and addresses from financing documents, i.e. Key Stakeholders & Other Parties, and input into the Bank's compliance tracking system (FiSAC) used to perform screenings, per sanction and regulatory guidelines.Review timely pre-close data capture/extract and review of control checklists in determining Special Loan Flag, and IFRS9 – SPPI regulatory indicators.Review facility collateral/guarantee and covenant compliance data and subsequent activity to ensure conformity to internal and external support documentation as well as update applicable systems/spreadsheets/document repository.Daily review and remediation of exception reports to ensure prompt resolution with respective parties.Communicate and coordinate with agents, lenders, and clients as needed; escalate potential problems or seek clarification as appropriate.Produce system closing and associated funding notices to borrowers and lenders.Participate in Automation Projects and other ad-hoc tasks/projects as directed by management.Minimum Required QualificationsBachelor's degree.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong knowledge of financial industry and related products.Strong interpersonal skills in order to develop effective working relationships with others, and a willingness to share knowledge with team members.Display a sense of curiosity, enthusiasm and eagerness to understand business constraints, environment and impact on regulation for the financial industry.Preferred QualificationsMinimum 5 years' experience in Closing Credit Deals.FINRA Registrations RequiredNot ApplicableSEC Security-Based Swap Dealer Associated PersonNot ApplicableWhile the description above describes our ideal candidate, we encourage applicants to apply even if they do not fully meet the complete list of qualifications noted.The expected starting salary range for this position is between $125,000 to $165,000 annually.
