Position title: Surgeon - Scientist Faculty, Trauma Salary range: The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. The salary range for this position is $200,000-$1,500,000. See Table 5 - Summary: This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, which provides eligibility for additional compensation. Position Description The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UCLA is recruiting an Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeon. Qualified candidates must have completed an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency program, successfully completed an Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship, and be board certified or board eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery. Candidates must be able to obtain a California medical license. Applicants are expected to have excellent clinical skills, be willing to actively participate in medical education, and be comfortable covering basic orthopaedic trauma in a general trauma call pool. This role will provide clinical care centered around Orthopaedic Trauma at UCLA's Ronald Reagan Medical Center and Santa Monica Hospital, with additional sites possible. The position requires one to two days of outpatient clinical care at an outpatient clinic. Candidates should be fully engaged in providing state‑of‑the‑art, patient‑centered care and have an interest in developing an academic orthopaedic surgery practice focused on trauma care. Qualifications Basic qualifications Medical degree (M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent). Completed fellowship training in Trauma Surgery. Board certified or eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery. Eligible for a California medical license. Preferred qualifications Demonstrated excellence in research, preferably with a track record of extramural funding.
