TRIGO Global Quality Solutions is seeking a

Weld Process Consultant

Short-term 1099 Independent Contractor

Travel to customer sites as needed

Greenville, SC area

We are seeking an experienced Contract Welding Engineer/Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) Consultants for short-term, as-needed project support at our manufacturing facility. This is a non-permanent, project-based role ideal for an independent contractor. The primary objective is to audit our current welding quality, provide actionable optimization suggestions, and return at a later date to verify the results.

OVERVIEW

• Inspect & Audit: Conduct on-site inspections of welds in a manufacturing setting to identify quality issues or defects.
• Troubleshoot & Advise: Analyze current welding parameters and offer clear, practical suggestions to improve weld integrity and cycle times.
• Verify Results: Return to the site after a designated period to check on implemented changes and ensure quality standards are met.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience: Proven track record in automotive welding processes (such as resistance spot welding, MIG/MAG, or laser welding).
• Flexibility: Ability to travel to our site for short-term visits on an as-needed basis.
• Employment Type: Independent Contractor (1099) / Freelance. Cannot employ full-time as needed for client requests.

• Technical degree   CWEng and/or required weld certification through American Weld Society such as CWI CRWT, Certified Robotic Arc Welding ( CRAW ) or Certified Resistance Welding Technician ( CRWT )

TRAVEL SUPPORT

• Includes travel pay, daily per diem, lodging, and a rental car.
