Job TitlePay Range: $18.98hr - $19.70hrRequirements/Must HaveValid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.Minimum of 6 months’ work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.High School Diploma or GED.ResponsibilitiesPerform blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, and updating patient information.Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.Properly explain in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture and other specimen collection as required.Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.Fully understand all of the physicians’ orders.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.Package specimens for transport.Store specimen samples according to required temperature, place samples in appropriate collection containers, accurately label, and follow specific transport protocols to maintain specimen integrity.Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.Attend annual department trainings.Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.SkillsPhlebotomy.Venipuncture.Specimen Processing.Centrifuging.Data Entry.OSHA Compliance.Microsoft Office Suite.Qualification And EducationHigh School Diploma or GED.Valid Phlebotomy certification.
