Staff Accountant

As our firm continues to grow, we are seeking a Tax Preparer / Staff Accountant with public accounting experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 4 years of public accounting experience with a strong background in bookkeeping, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Role Overview: Accounting Responsibilities -Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities - Review general ledger activity and account balances - Reconcile bank accounts - Prepare and post adjusting journal entries - Record depreciation and other period-end adjustments - Confirm and adjust liabilities and loan balances - Review collections and revenue activity - Review expenses and supporting documentation - Reconcile payroll expenses and payroll tax liabilities to payroll reports - Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules - Maintain accurate accounting records and workpapers Tax Season Support - Review and organize client tax documents and supporting information - Assist with preparation of Individual Tax Returns, Partnership Returns, and Corporate Returns Additional Responsibilities - Perform administrative duties as needed - Work directly with clients and firm personnel - Assist with special projects and firm initiatives - Develop professionally within a collaborative public accounting environment Required Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting - 2 to 4 years of public accounting experience - Strong understanding of accounting principles, general ledger concepts, and financial statement presentation - Understanding of federal, state, and payroll taxation concepts - Strong analytical and organizational skills - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy - Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities - Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software - Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Ability to analyze issues, perform research, and apply critical thinking skills Preferred Qualifications - Experience working with multiple client engagements - CPA candidate or CPA license Schedule - Monday through Friday – In Office - Additional evening and weekend hours may be required during busy season #J-18808-Ljbffr
