Job Description

Job Summary:

Assist in preparing and dispensing medications within the pharmacy department, supporting clinical and operational functions. Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain accurate medication records to optimize patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Compile and dispense prescriptions accurately following physician orders and pharmacy protocols.
• Maintain and update medication inventory, ensuring proper storage and stock levels.
• Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded medications in accordance with established procedures.
• Adhere to strict safety, sanitation, and confidentiality protocols to ensure patient and staff safety.
• Collaborate with pharmacists to verify prescriptions and medication correctness.
• Document prescription activities and inventory movements thoroughly in pharmacy systems.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Pharmacy Technician certification or license.
• Demonstrate at least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience, preferably in hospital settings.
• Possess sterile compounding certification and experience with Meditech or similar EMR systems.
• Exhibit strong attention to detail and meticulous record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including variable schedules and weekend coverage.
• Exhibit excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with pharmacy staff.
