Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical Surgical/Surgical Services unit on a 13-week night shift contract, requiring at least 1 year of acute care Med/Surg/Ortho experience and an active KS or compact RN license.

Details

• Medical Surgical/Surgical Services unit in a hospital setting (34-bed unit)
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Patient ratio of 6:1
• Traction equipment used on the unit
• Common procedures include total joint and spine surgeries
• Meditech EMR
• Day shift staffing includes 1 CNC, 6 RNs, and 3 PCTs; night shift includes 1 CNC, 5 RNs, and 3 PCTs

Requirements

• Active KS or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment)
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care hospital Med/Surg/Ortho experience
• At least 2 years of overall clinical experience required
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Familiarity with traction equipment is preferred
• Experience with spine, hip, and joint precautions is preferred
• ACLS certification is preferred
• Brand new unit
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered
• The ideal candidate is an outgoing team player with a compassionate bedside manner
