Preventative Maintenance TechnicianSalary: $35 - $45 per hourLocation: Indianapolis, INWe are seeking a hands-on Preventative Maintenance Technician to support a precision CNC manufacturing environment. This position will be primarily responsible for performing scheduled preventative maintenance on CNC machine tools and related manufacturing equipment, helping maximize machine uptime, reliability, accuracy, and equipment life.This is an ideal opportunity for someone who understands that the best maintenance call is the one you prevent. You'll work closely with production and operations to identify potential equipment issues before they become downtime, complete routine maintenance activities, and help keep a high-precision machining operation running safely and efficiently.ResponsibilitiesPerform scheduled preventative maintenance on CNC equipment, including CNC mills, lathes, multi-axis machining centers, and related machineryComplete routine inspections and maintenance according to OEM recommendations and internal PM schedulesInspect, lubricate, clean, adjust, and replace machine components as requiredMaintain and service lubrication, coolant, hydraulic, and pneumatic systemsInspect and replace filters, belts, hoses, seals, fluids, and other common wear itemsCheck fluid levels, pressures, lubrication delivery, coolant condition, and other critical machine operating parametersIdentify abnormal machine conditions including leaks, unusual noise, vibration, excessive wear, overheating, or changes in machine performancePerform basic troubleshooting and minor mechanical repairs when issues are identified during preventative maintenanceSupport maintenance of chip conveyors, mist collectors, coolant filtration systems, air compressors, chillers, pumps, and other equipment supporting CNC operationsCoordinate more complex repairs with internal resources, machine tool distributors, OEM service technicians, or outside vendors as neededAssist with maintaining accurate preventative maintenance schedules, service records, equipment documentation, and maintenance logsMonitor recurring equipment issues and recommend corrective or preventative actionsMaintain appropriate inventory of common maintenance supplies, fluids, filters, replacement components, and wear itemsWork with production personnel to schedule maintenance while minimizing disruption to manufacturing operationsFollow all established safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirementsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentAssist with general manufacturing equipment and facility maintenance needs as requiredRequirementsPrevious experience performing preventative maintenance in a CNC machining, machine tool, industrial maintenance, or manufacturing environmentWorking knowledge of CNC equipment such as mills, lathes, machining centers, or similar machine toolsStrong mechanical aptitude and ability to identify equipment wear or developing mechanical issuesExperience working with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and coolant systemsBasic electrical troubleshooting knowledge preferredAbility to safely use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and maintenance-related equipmentAbility to read and follow equipment manuals, preventative maintenance procedures, technical documentation, and maintenance schedulesExperience with coolant systems, filtration equipment, chip conveyors, air compressors, mist collectors, chillers, or other machine-shop support equipment is highly preferredStrong attention to detail with a proactive, preventative approach to equipment maintenanceAbility to document completed work and maintain organized maintenance recordsAbility to work independently while effectively communicating equipment concerns to production and leadershipStrong commitment to workplace safety and proper lockout/tagout proceduresHigh school diploma or equivalent required; technical or industrial maintenance training preferredAbility to perform the physical requirements associated with industrial equipment maintenance, including standing, bending, climbing, lifting, and working around manufacturing equipment
