Job Title: Carpenter Job Description

As a carpenter, you will be responsible for building and assembling custom wood windows, doors, and architectural millwork products. Your role involves interpreting blueprints and shop drawings to fabricate components according to specifications. You will cut, shape, sand, and assemble wood materials using various woodworking equipment, perform finish work, and ensure products meet quality standards before shipment. You will work closely with production teams to complete projects on schedule, inspect completed products for fit, finish, and functionality, and maintain a safe and organized work area.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble custom wood windows, doors, and architectural millwork products.

• Interpret blueprints and shop drawings to fabricate components to specification.

• Cut, shape, sand, and assemble wood materials using various woodworking equipment.

• Perform finish work and ensure products meet quality standards before shipment.

• Work closely with production teams to complete projects on schedule.

• Inspect completed products for fit, finish, and functionality.

• Maintain a safe and organized work area.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in carpentry, cabinetmaking, millwork, woodworking, or finish carpentry.

• Ability to safely operate woodworking machinery and hand tools.

• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.

• Ability to read tape measures and perform basic math calculations.

• Ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods.

• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

• Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn specialized manufacturing processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with construction, framing, trim work, and rough carpentry.

• Knowledge of windows and doors fabrication.

Work Environment

The work environment is an indoor manufacturing and production facility operating from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will be part of a team-based shop environment that is fast-paced and focused on custom fabrication. Frequent use of woodworking machinery and power tools is required, with a high emphasis on precision, quality, and craftsmanship. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when operating machinery and handling materials, and the role involves a combination of independent work and collaboration with production teams.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Charleston, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
