Transportation Planner & Inventory Control Associate
Where: Groton, MA (100% onsite)
When: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay: $25–$30 per hour (overtime not typically expected; not guaranteed)
Term: 6-month contract with the possibility of extension

- Do you enjoy lining up shipments, confirming appointments, and making sure nothing slips?
- Are you organized, proactive, and comfortable working without micromanagement?
- Can you bring calm and structure to a team navigating growth and change?
- Plan and schedule truckload and LTL pickups/deliveries with carriers.
- Coordinate material moves from Groton to the expanding Clinton warehouse , ensuring documentation and receiving are aligned.
- Resolve exceptions with trucking companies and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
- Strengthen inventory control by reconciling counts, clearing discrepancies, and closing transactions.
- Keep shipment records, appointments, and transfer logs tidy and current.
You’ll report to the Sr. Supply Chain Manager . The core team includes:
- At Groton: Sr. Supply Chain Manager, Buyer, and Scheduler.
- At Clinton: a Supervisor and two additional team members.
In total, you’ll partner with about seven colleagues across both locations.
What we’re looking for- Proven trucking scheduling experience—coordinating and facilitating shipments with carriers.
- Detail-first, highly organized approach; you love closing loops.
- Self-starter who can hit the ground running and thrives without micromanagement.
- Comfort in a fast-changing environment with multiple moving parts.
With new leaders onboard and an active Clinton warehouse expansion , our department is managing high volumes of inter-facility moves. Your planning and follow-through will reduce chaos, tighten inventory control, and keep operations moving smoothly.
