Production Coordinator

Looking to Play a Key Role in Manufacturing Operations? Our client is seeking a Production Coordinator who will serve as a critical link between production, planning, project management, and logistics teams. In this strategic role, you will contribute to the efficiency of manufacturing operations by ensuring the smooth flow of information, availability of components and materials, alignment of production priorities, and coordination of day-to-day operational activities. Your ability to understand shop floor realities and collaborate with multiple stakeholders will help support production objectives while ensuring customer commitments are met. Key Responsibilities Production Operations Coordination Coordinate activities between the production floor and the planning team. Ensure manufacturing priorities are aligned with established production schedules. Monitor the progress of work orders and customer orders throughout the production process. Identify potential risks, constraints, and production bottlenecks that may impact delivery timelines. Support the Production Manager in managing operational priorities. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing manufacturing processes and production flow. Material Management and Logistics Support Monitor incoming materials, components, and raw material receipts. Coordinate receiving inspection activities with the appropriate teams. Ensure required parts and components are available to support production schedules. Coordinate material picking activities for manufacturing operations. Quickly identify inventory discrepancies or supply chain issues that could impact production. Support the organization and preparation of materials according to production release schedules. Production Monitoring and Operational Visibility Provide clear visibility regarding: Production progress; Operational issues; Potential risks; Ongoing corrective actions. Facilitate effective communication between production, planning, project management, and support teams. Collaborate with Project Managers to provide accurate and up-to-date information regarding order status and production progress. Support customer communications by providing operationally aligned information based on current manufacturing realities. Meeting Coordination and Priority Management Prepare data and reports required for planning and forecasting meetings. Consolidate information from various departments. Track critical priorities and ongoing action items. Identify situations requiring immediate attention and escalation. Support management communications related to manufacturing operations. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered. 3 to 7 years of experience in a unionized manufacturing environment. Experience in production coordination, operations management, logistics, supply chain, production planning, or project management. Experience collaborating directly with production teams and operational leaders. Strong understanding of manufacturing operations. Knowledge of production workflows and manufacturing planning processes. Experience with inventory management and material control. Experience using ERP systems, particularly SAP, is considered a strong asset. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Power BI, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, or similar business tools is an asset.
