Insurance and Authorization Manager, Access Services- Patient Engagement Center

Department/Unit: Patient Engagement Center Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $65,102.17 - $100,908.37 The position is responsible for the daily operations of the Pre‑Service functions of the Patient Engagement Center Insurance and Authorization complement related to eligibility verification, pre‑registration, authorization and financial clearance needs for Practice and Hospital Services. The role ensures that staff execute necessary actions to achieve timely scheduling and authorization/financial clearance that meets our patients and provider expectations. This includes monitoring daily metrics related to call center management, ensuring adequate staffing and process modifications to meet key performance indicators for pre‑service revenue cycle best practice, and managing a high‑functioning team that promotes a patient‑centered approach for recruitment and retention. Experience 5 – 7 years supervisor experience in Hospital, Practice or Patient Billing, specific to appointment and service scheduling. Revenue Cycle Operation experience, including healthcare call center experience, with a demonstrated patient‑centered approach to the best practice appointment scheduling process. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Demonstrated success in developing a patient‑centered environment; promoting actions that optimize the patient experience. Revenue Cycle Management, including direct experience with denial prevention, third‑party payer contractual agreements, and Practice and Hospital Billing Regulations; ability to review billing edits for long‑term resolution at the time of scheduling. Critical thinking and effective service recovery. Excellent attention to detail and adherence to best‑practice pre‑service processes; strong analytical skills to identify process fail points and implement improvement measures. Ability to think on your feet and provide solutions to immediate patient complaints, focusing on service recovery. Leadership skills to motivate and inspire a team to achieve excellence in revenue cycle principles. Understanding of system integration and optimization of system functionality for workflow efficiency. Ability to create daily, weekly, monthly dashboards for identifying revenue cycle vulnerabilities and create cash targets for point‑of‑service collection. Multi‑tasking in a high‑stress environment with the ability to meet mission‑critical expectations. Education Bachelor's Degree, required.
