Compensation and Incentives Competitive Pay – $30–33 per hour depending on experience Tool/Boot Reimbursement Program Referral Program Job Summary Responsible for performing preventative maintenance, special inspections, and general repairs on tractor and trailer units in accordance with DOT, federal and state regulations and company standards. Determines overall mechanical condition, diagnoses component malfunctions, initiates repair actions, and restores equipment to safe operating status. Duties and Responsibilities Diagnose and repair tractors and trailers, including annual/systematic 90‑day inspections of trailers. Ensure equipment meets Federal FHWA standards. Operate yard hostler truck to move trailers within the facility yard and shop. Order and receive parts and supplies as needed. Adhere to all established OSHA and environmental policies and procedures for hazardous waste handling. Clean, organize, and maintain the work environment to support equipment longevity and workplace safety. At least 1 year of experience with tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations, and company policies and procedures. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Position Type / Hours Full‑time position, Monday through Friday. Hours to be determined. Shop has a climate similar to outdoor weather; frequent exposure to loud machinery, air tool operation, hammering, and engine noise. Physical Demands Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 75 lbs. Able to fit into a 20" cargo trailer dome opening. Able to meet safety standards for fall protection harness – max weight 310 lbs (includes all PPE worn). Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Stand, walk, bend, twist, kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl for long periods. Make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls. Use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objects. Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects. Bend, stretch, twist, or reach out. See details of objects that are less than a few feet away. Hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm.
