Bartender Job Description

Bruzze Brewing is seeking a friendly, dependable, and energetic bartender to join our taproom team. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, provides excellent customer service, and can thrive in a fast-paced brewery environment. Weekend and evening availability is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, attentive service.
• Explain beer styles, ingredients, flavor profiles, and current tap offerings.
• Pour and serve beer, wine, and other approved beverages responsibly.
• Provide beer samples and recommendations based on customer preferences.
• Accurately enter orders, process payments, and manage tabs using the point-of-sale system.
• Verify identification and follow all alcohol-service laws and brewery policies.
• Monitor customer alcohol consumption and refuse service when appropriate.
• Maintain a clean and organized bar, taproom, patio, and service area.
• Wash and properly store glassware, utensils, and bar equipment.
• Restock beer, wine, cups, merchandise, and other supplies during and after shifts.
• Change kegs and notify management of low inventory or equipment concerns.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning, cash reconciliation, and securing the bar.
• Answer customer questions about brewery events, food offerings, merchandise, and promotions.
• Assist with special events, live music, private parties, and busy taproom service.
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, and workplace-safety procedures.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen, brewhouse, and management staff.
• Help create a welcoming, relaxed environment that reflects Bruzze Brewing’s brand.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous bartending, serving, or customer-service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of craft beer or a willingness to learn.
• Must meet Georgia’s legal requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to remain professional and organized during busy periods.
• Basic math and cash-handling skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently when needed.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
• Alcohol-server certification preferred or required within a designated period after hire.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, including kegs and beverage supplies, with assistance when appropriate.
• Ability to bend, reach, carry trays, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work in a busy environment that may include loud music, crowds, and indoor or outdoor service.
