Responsibilities
- Learn to set up and operate CNC mills and lathes on a variety of projects
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand job requirements
- Assist with basic CNC programming and editing tasks
- Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure quality
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, following shop safety protocols
- Support general shop operations and develop practical machining skills through hands-on experience
- Work directly with experienced machinists for one-on-one training and mentorship
Qualifications
- Strong desire to learn and build a career in CNC machining
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Basic math skills, including working with fractions and decimals
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with your hands
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods during shifts
- Positive attitude and willingness to take direction
- No prior experience required; shop class or hands-on mechanical experience is a plus
Compensation
Starting at $20 per hour, with opportunities for raises as new skills are acquired.
