About the Position

ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift – Relocation Candidates Welcome

We are seeking an experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care in a six-bed medical and surgical intensive care unit (MOSU) in Globe, Arizona.

The unit cares for patients with complex medical and post-surgical conditions, including post-cardiac catheterization and PCI, respiratory failure, sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), acute kidney injury (AKI), and unstable cardiac arrhythmias.

The ideal candidate will have strong critical care experience, advanced monitoring skills, and the ability to manage critically ill patients requiring ventilatory support, vasoactive medications, and invasive monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to critically ill medical, surgical, and cardiac patients.

• Initiate, titrate, and manage vasopressors, thrombolytics, antihypertensives, antidiabetics, and sedation medications.

• Manage patients receiving mechanical ventilation, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula.

• Perform hemodynamic monitoring and interpret telemetry.

• Provide sepsis management and monitor patients for clinical deterioration.

• Manage central lines, arterial lines, and chest tubes.

• Administer blood products according to established protocols.

• Monitor patients following surgery, cardiac catheterization, and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

• Operate medication infusion pumps, rapid infusers, bedside cardiac monitors, and bladder scanners.

• Maintain accurate patient documentation using the Meditech EMR system.

• Float to Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Step-Down, and Observation units as needed.

• Provide holiday coverage and participate in on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license valid for practice in Arizona.

• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience .

• Critical care nursing experience required.

• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications .

• Demonstrated experience with:

  • Vasopressor and sedation management.

  • Mechanical ventilation.

  • Hemodynamic and telemetry monitoring.

  • Sepsis management.

  • Central and arterial line management.

  • Chest tube management.

  • Blood administration.

• Ability to manage critically ill patients and adapt to changing clinical conditions.

• Willingness to float to other inpatient units when required.

Schedule & Assignment Details

• Contract Duration: 13 weeks.

• Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM.

• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week, subject to facility cancellation terms.

• Positions Available: 1.

• Unit: Six-bed medical/surgical intensive care unit.

• Patient Ratios:

  • Critical care: 2:1.

  • Step-down: 4:1.

  • Standard care: 6:1.

• EMR: Meditech.

• Holiday Coverage: Required.

• Call-Back Rate: All-inclusive rate.

• Overtime: After 40 hours per week, at the all-inclusive rate.

• Flu Vaccine: Required; no exceptions.

• Radius Restriction: Travelers must have a permanent address more than 100 miles from the hospital.

• Requested Time Off: No more than 3 days per 13-week contract.

• Cancellation Policy: The facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the assignment.
