Staff Accountant Island H2O

Position Summary NDM Hospitality Rentyl Resorts is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to own the accounting function for Island H2O Live, a waterpark operating asset. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, this role owns the month‑end close, delivers accurate financial reporting and analysis to leadership and ownership, and maintains a strong internal control environment. It is ideal for a hands‑on manager who can both review the details and elevate the numbers into insight. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Review Supervise, mentor, and develop staff accountant(s) supporting the waterpark Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting workpapers prepared by staff Own and manage the month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close calendar, ensuring deadlines are met Review the financial package for accuracy and completeness before it is distributed to leadership and ownership Financial Reporting & Analysis Conduct variance analysis (budget vs. actual) and provide insights to leadership Generate and present timely, accurate reporting for internal stakeholders and ownership Analyze financial data to identify trends and operational efficiencies Provide financial analysis to support decision‑making and profitability improvements Budgeting, Forecasting & Controls Lead the annual budget process and periodic forecasts in partnership with operations Own cash flow forecasting and monitor liquidity across the portfolio Maintain and enforce internal controls and company accounting policies Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy Accounting Oversight Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, and billing processes Oversee waterpark and revenue accounting, including Attendance/POS reconciliation Ensure all accounting activities comply with GAAP standards Review and approve vendor payments and disbursements above established thresholds Audit & Compliance Manage any annual audits, coordinate the prepared‑by‑client (PBC) list, and serve as primary liaison with external auditors Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and waterpark regulations Complete state sales tax filings Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required) CPA strongly preferred Experience 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full‑cycle accounting and ownership of month‑end close 2+ years supervising or reviewing the work of other accountants Waterpark or attractions industry experience strongly preferred Skills & Competencies Technical Skills Strong command of GAAP and financial reporting Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, modeling, analysis) Experience with the Oracle NetSuite accounting system Experience with the RocketRez system and Toast Point of Sale system Ability to own the general ledger, financial statements, and the close process Leadership & Operational Skills Proven ability to manage, review, and develop accounting staff Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a process‑improvement mindset Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment Collaboration & Communication Strong cross‑functional partnership with operations, front office, leadership, and ownership Ability to translate financial data into actionable insight for non‑financial stakeholders High attention to detail, organization, and accountability for team deliverables Why Join Rentyl Resorts This role offers ownership of the accounting function across a unique and growing waterpark portfolio, including: Waterpark operations Food & beverage revenue streams High‑impact financial reporting and analysis presented to ownership Leadership of a growing accounting team with property expansions ahead NDM Hospitality Rentyl Resorts is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws. #J-18808-Ljbffr NDM Hospitality
