CLINICAL STAFF PHARMACIST I

General Summary/Responsibilities:Department:Shift: 11am-9:30pm, with 3rd shift coverageStatus: Full Time / 80 hours per pay periodFacility: Upper Valley Medical CenterUnder the supervision of Pharmacy Leadership and according to standard procedures; compounds and dispenses medications and provides pharmaceutical care upon receiving provider orders; performs all duties necessary to provide for the effective daily operation of all departmental services and programs; responsible for medication dosing and monitoring by provider referral; active participant in codes; supervises interns and technicians in all work areas assigned; participates in training pharmacy students and technicians; participates in clinical research protocols and drug therapy research activities.QualificationsEducationMinimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor's degreeAdditional requirements:Type of degree: B.S.Pharm from an accredited college of pharmacy is requiredArea of study or major: PharmacyPreferred educational qualifications: PharmD from an accredited college of pharmacyPosition specific testing requirement: N/ALicensure/Certification/RegistrationOhio pharmacist licensure in good standing or eligible for licensure with the State of OhioACLS obtained within 90 days of hireExperienceMinimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experiencePrior job title or occupational experience: N/APrior specific functional responsibilities: N/lAPreferred experience: Greater than or equal to a six month hospital pharmacy internship or hospital experience as a pharmacist.Other experience requirements: Exclusive retail experience – greater than 5 years discouraged; greater than 10 years disqualifies candidateKnowledge/SkillsPossess good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and problem solving skillsAbility to read and write printed material in EnglishAbility to effectively perform patient interviews and medication counselingAbility to work well with other health care workers and perform as a teamProficient with aseptic technique when utilizing both horizontal and vertical flow hoodsMust be customer-service orientedProficiency with computer keyboard operationsProficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferredAbility to troubleshoot problems and/or do minor maintenance on all pharmacy equipment, printers, computers and telecommunication equipment with adequate training in the pharmacy.
