Travel RN – Same Day Surgery

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days | 5 Days per Week | Start Time: 10:30 AM – 11:00 PM | Projected Start: October 5, 2026 or later

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pre-operative care including IV placement, vital sign collection, patient shaving, consent acquisition, and brief health history documentation
• Prepare patients for surgery by administering medications and completing all required pre-surgical assessments and procedures
• Deliver post-operative care and provide discharge instructions related to the surgical process
• Maintain patient ratios of up to 4:1 within an 18-bed Same Day Surgery unit
• Accurately document patient care and clinical information using EPIC EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Same Day Surgery (SDS) or surgical department setting
• Demonstrated experience with pre-operative preparation including IV starts, vitals, consent, and medication administration
• Experience providing post-operative care and surgical discharge instructions
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Strong IV start skills with demonstrated proficiency
• Broad pre-operative and post-operative surgical experience across multiple surgical specialties
• Familiarity with a wide range of surgical procedure types
